General description:
Synonymized with Protoparce rustica as a subspecies by Rothschild & Jordan, 1903, Novit. zool.9 (suppl.): 85. Reinstated as a species by Clark, 1926, Proc. New Engl. zool. Club9: 68. Resynonymized with Protoparce rustica as a subspecies by Kernbach, 1962, Opusc. zool.63: 4, who demonstrated that the Galapagos population was highly variable in colour and pattern.
Morphology:
Smaller and paler than Manduca rustica rustica. Uncus less distinctly sinuate than in Manduca rustica rustica.Harpe shorter than in Manduca rustica rustica.
