Manduca sesquiplex subsp. opima
Morphology:
Similar in pattern to Manduca muscosa that also occurs in Costa Rica, but the upperside of body and forewing much greener; forewing more elongate; and male antenna thicker.Differs from Manduca sesquiplex sesquiplex in the upperside being much darker, not greyish white; the forewing shorter, with the lines more prominent; hindwing upperside with the 2 black median bands much closer together. Similar to those of Manduca sesquiplex sesquiplex, but:gnathos narrower;harpe much more rounded distally. Tubercle posterior to ostium bursae smaller than in Manduca muscosa.
