Marumba amboinicus (Taxonomy)
General description:
Transferred to Marumba by Rothschild, 1894, Novit. zool.1: 96.
Morphology:
Forewing a characteristic shape, with apex extended and rounded. Uncus divided but not deeply, resulting lobes short.Gnathos with short but distinct, bell-shaped medial process, strongly curved so forming a hook in lateral view. Valva with dorso-apical lobe obliquely truncated, lacking a dagger-like process. Harpe extended into a long, upwardly pointed hook. Sterigma with a process of variable length extending each side of the ostium bursae, so that plate appears bilobed with lobes widely separated.
