HOLOTYPE ♂ [China:] Shanghai [NHMUK]. Mell, 1935, Mitt. zool. Mus. Berl. 20: 341, considered it unlikely that Felder & Felder's holotype came from the plains of the Yangtse river, but that it was more probable to have been captured in the Snow Valley, near Ningpo, from where many of Felder & Felder's other types came.
