Nephele aequivalens
Diagnostic description:
Immediately distinguishable by the large size and narrow dark brown to black band running across the forewing upperside from about the midpoint of the costa to the end of CuA2. Body and wing dark greyish olive. Abdomen upperside without lateral black patches. Combs of spurs and tarsi strongly developed. Hindtarsus twice the length of tibia, basitarsus as long as the other four tarsomeres together. Forewing upperside with a black band from near middle of costa to end of CuA2. Submarginal line evenly curved from apex to end of CuA2. Hindwing very dark olive brown, apical third darker. Forewing length: 45-52 mm.
Male genitalia: Gnathos rather shorter than other species of Nephele. Harpe more abruptly curved than other species of Nephele.
