Nephele funebris
Diagnostic description:
Very similar to Nephele comma but less variable in colour, usually shade of dark olive brown. Abdomen upperside differs from Nephele comma in the presence of five pairs of large lateral black spots on the abdomen. Underside of labial palp white and brown. Thorax underside clayish-buff. Hindbasitarsal combs well developed. Forewing upperside very similar to Nephele comma but distinguishable by the much more irregular submarginal line, which does not contrast in colour with the rest of the forewing; discal spot present (form conimaculata) or absent (form funebris). Forewing length: 33-39 mm
