Pachygonidia martini (Taxonomy)
General description:
Transferred to Pachygonidia by d'Abrera, [1987], Sphingidae Mundi: 106. Synonymized with Pachygonidia hopfferi by Haxaire, 1996, Lambillionea96: 342. Implicitly reinstated as a species by Carcasson & Heppner, 1996, Atlas Neotrop. Lepid.4B: 56.
Morphology:
Very similar to Pachygonidia hopfferi but forewing outer edge rounded at the end of M2 (not angulate). Forewing upperside as in Pachygonidia hopfferi but outer edge of dark postmedian band wavy or toothed (smooth in Pachygonidia hopfferi). As in Pachygonidia hopfferi.
As Pachygonidia hopfferi but subventral bar arising from apex of aedeagus and curving left under the vesica armed with anteriorly directed teeth.
