This species is distinguished from Paonias myops and Paonias astylus by the scalloped outer margins of both forewing (strongly) and hindwing (less strongly). Valva almost evenly rounded at apex.Harpe with defined apex, unlike that of Paonias astylus. Aedeagus with two teeth before apex; vesica with patch of long thin spines. Ostium bursae large, anterior margin raised to a deeply cleft ridge resulting in a bilobed condition.
