Similar in shape, size and markings to Pseudoclanis boisduvali, but the colour and appearance is different. Browner than in Pseudoclanis boisduvali, and with the oblique line stronger and straighter. Forewing upperside apical spot smaller than in female. 27-30 mm. Forewing upperside apical spot on larger than in male. Uncus broad basally then suddenly narrowing to a strong pointed hook.Gnathos absent. Valva with proximal half broad, apical half much narrower, curved upwards and with dorsal margin divided; stridulatory scales absent. Harpe a long, evenly-curved hook. Aedeagus lacking armature; with a short, horizontal, pointed conical process below the aedeagus. Tergum A8 sclerotised and with posterior margin evenly rounded.Ostium bursae produced into a very short, narrow operculum.Lamella antevaginalis composed of a narrow, antero-posteriorly compressed ring, open anteriorly, where there is a small tongue-shaped medial plate.Lamella postvaginalis in form of a short, narrow, transverse projecting plate, flanked on each side by a deep, irregular sinus followed by a similar latero-ventral plate.Ductus bursae fairly long and slender.Corpus bursae small, rounded, minutely pitted; signum absent.
