Praedora leucophaea
Body greyish white, with some scattered clay-coloured scales. Arolium narrow; lobe of pulvillus very slender, short. Forewing costal margin slightly concave, as in Praedora plagiata. Forewing upperside greyish white, with clay-coloured markings, including: traces of 3 lines near base, indicated by 3 spots at the costal margin; an antemedial band of 2 lines, curved costad anteriorly, and with the trace of a white stigma just distal; a broader discal band, proximally convex and distally concave between the veins, consisting of 2 lines with the gap filled in; a double line distal to the discal band, the proximal one vestigial, slightly accentuated by vein-dots, the distal distinct, consisting of half-moons that are convex distally; and a submarginal line of vein-dots; fringe clay-coloured, with small greyish-white internervular spots. Underside of both wings grey, shaded with clay, the distal margins more greyish white. Forewing underside with 3 faint parallel, evenly curved, equidistant, non-dentate discal lines. Hindwing upperside pale clay-coloured, with a trace of a deeper coloured submarginal band. Hindwing underside with 3 lines, the most proximal just beyond the apex of the discal cell, abbreviated; the second about 1.5 mm. beyond the posterior angle of the discal cell; the third a little nearer the cell than the margin at vein M3. Forewing length: 20 mm.
Specimens from South Africa differ slightly in wing pattern from those from Kenya and Ethiopia and probably represent a separate species.
