Proserpinus gaurae (Taxonomy)
General description:
Transferred to Proserpinus by H├╝bner, [1819] 1816, Verz. bekannter Schmett.: 132.
Morphology:
Forewing outer margin distinctly sinuate before tornus. Labial palps longer than in the other species of Proserpinus, somewhat projecting. Underside of abdomen brownish-orange. Forewing underside without black discal spot; basal area chestnut-orange. Hindwing upperside orange, washed brownish basally; marginal band reddish; fringe white with the short scales black. Basal area of hindwing underside chestnut-orange. Harpe less distinct than in Proserpina clarkiae. Aedeagus with shorter tooth than in Proserpina clarkiae.
