Protambulyx eurycles
Diagnostic description:
Similar to Protambulyx euryalus but: Forewing marginal band much broader between veins M1 and M3, proximal edge crenulated, not even. Hindwing postmedial line angled rather than curved. Female less heavily marked from the male.
Male genitalia: Uncus produced into a short, blunt, strong process. Gnathos produced into an evenly rounded lobe. Valve with patch of stridulatory scales broader dorsally than laterally, larger than in Protambulyx strigilis. Harpe triangular, not raised above plane of valve and not distinctly ridged. Phallus dorsally with short, apical, slightly dentate ridge.
Female genitalia: Ostium bursae with proximal edge less elevated than in Protambulyx strigilis; posterior margin of cavity carinate mesially
