Macroglossum cadioui
Diagnostic description:
Male FWL: 22-24 mm. Female FWL: 23-25 mm. Very similar to Macroglossum caldum caldum, in that both species share bluish-white bands and lines on the forewing upperside. However, Macroglossum cadioui differs in having a more undulate submarginal line and in being slightly larger.
Male genitalia: Differs from Macroglossum caldum caldum in having a short, rounded, apically somewhat spatulate harpe, which is most similar to that of Macroglossum nemesis but slightly shorter than that species. Vesica lacking diverticula (and thus differing markedly from Macroglossum caldum caldum), the two cornuti arising directly from the vesica.
