HOLOTYPE [♀] "Formosa" (Matsumura), «♀ Genitalia on slide No. Sph-1, T. Kumata, 1973, 1» [EIHU]. Matsumura incorrectly stated that the holotype was a male. This specimen was unnecessarily designated as lectotype by Inoue, 1973, Bull. Fac. domest. Sci. Otsuma Wom. Univ. 9: 132. Furthermore, Inoue stated that he had never seen any Taiwanese material of this species apart from the holotype and suspected that Matsumura had mislabelled a Japanese specimen. Inoue, 1990, Tinea 12: 256, reported that the species had still not been collected in Taiwan.
