Heterocera Brit. Mus. 5: pl. 81, fig. 5 illustrated a female from "Darjiling" captured by Lidderdale as "typical" but this does not constitute a valid lectotype designation. This specimen was illustrated by d’Abrera, 1987, Sphingidae Mundi: 85.
