Sphingonaepiopsis nana
Much more uniform in colour than Sphingonaepiopsis gorgoniades. Abdomen upperside with vestigial markings compared with Sphingonaepiopsis gorgoniades.
Male genitalia: Uncus similar to Sphingonaepiopsis gorgoniades. Gnathos short, broad, membranous, irregularly rounded-truncate, broader than long. Valve sole-shaped; long bristles project obliquely ventrad from a fold on the costa. Harpe large, ventrally produced into a digitate, flattened process that is visible in external view; apex of harpe with spines that point ventrad and distad. Phallus without armature.
Female genitalia: Posterior apophyses long and slender. Tergite 8 simple, with a broad sculptured posterior band of spine sockets. Ostium bursae with inner surface produced into a pointed postvaginal plate and two regular, blunt lateral plates; antevaginal area rounded, membranous. Antrum narrow, tapering, directed to the left. Ductus bursae short. Corpus bursa rugose, elongate. Signum a very long, undivided, longitudinal rod with minute teeth.
