Lintneria justiciae (Walker, 1856)

Given the lack of material fromVenezuela, Surinam and the Amazon basin of either S. justiciae or S. merops, Rothschild & Jordan, 1903, Novit. zool.9 (suppl.): 122, were uncertain whether these two taxa were specifically distinct. The larva illusrated by Burmeister, 1879, Atlas Descr. physique R├®publique Argentine5 (L├®pid.) (2): pl. 13, fig. 3) is not Sphinx justicae but Manduca rustica rustica.
