Temnora burdoni
Similar to Temnora argyropeza but antennae longer and thicker, forewings shorter, hindwing upperside with a diffuse brown marginal band through which the orange ground colour almost reaches the margins between the veins from Rs to CuA1. Forewing upperside ground colour purplish-brown with a slight violet gloss; a broad diffuse dark brown band from middle of costa to tornus, below which are two faint paler spots; submarginal band paler, crenulated, thicker at costa. Forewing underside with basal three-quarters uniform brick red, paler at the costa and along the inner margin. Hindwing upperside orange with narrow dark brown margin through which the orange ground colour almost reaches the margins between the veins from Rs to CuA1. Hindwing underside brown with darker scales. Forewing length: 22 mm.
Male genitalia: Uncus slender, downcurved, apically smooth and bulbous. Gnathos slightly shorter than uncus, terminating in a curved vertical dentate ridge. Harpe almost reaching middle of valve margin, smooth, slender, apically pointed, slightly upcurved. Phallus fairly long, straight, tapering from base to apex. Vesica armed ventro-basally with a broad spinose plate, which is attached to the ventral surface of phallus before the apex and folded into phallus when vesica not everted.
