General description:
Synonymized with Temnora engis as a subspecies by Griveaud, 1968, Bull. Soc. ent. Fr.73: 145. Reinstated as a species by d'Abrera, [1987], Sphingidae Mundi: 144. Resynonymized (implicitly) with Temnora engis as a subspecies by Viette, 1990, Faune Madag. (Suppl. 1): 114.
Morphology:
Differs from Temnora engis engis in the distinct brown band running from the middle of costa to the tornus and the more contrasting pattern of transverse bands on the forewing upperside, and the darker and more distinct brown marginal band on hindwing upperside.
