SYNTYPES [2♂] Solomon Islands: Treasury «I., 5-10.viii.1901 (Meek)» [NHMUK]. Three males were described but the male in the CMNH is from Tulagi and so is not a syntype.
Taxonomic Notes:
Proposed as a subspecies of Theretra rhesus. Synonymized with Theretra insularis as a subspecies by Hogenes & Treadaway, 1998, Nachr. entomol. Ver. Apollo Suppl. 17: 100.
