Theretra jugurtha
Habitus: Labial palp segment 1 apical cavity sharply defined and the surrounding scaling regular (unlike Theretra latreillei and Theretra alecto). Upperside of abdomen lacking longitudinal lines, but a pair of basal subdorsal black patches sometimes indicated. Outer row of forebasitarsal spines single, sometimes doubled at base. Forewing upperside ground colour uniform greenish-brown; of the transverse pattern of bands and lines, only the first and fifth postmedial lines are clearly marked as somewhat diffuse darker brown lines accentuated by vein dots.
Male genitalia: Gnathos similar to Theretra capensis but rather more triangular. Valve with large, but not numerous, stridulatory scales. Harpe very long, slender. Phallus similar to Theretra capensis but left row of teeth shorter, not beginning apically, but laterally.
Female genitalia: Apical and lateral edges of sterigma around ostium bursae raised slightly, as in Theretra capensis; edge of the ostium bursae weakly sclerotized.
