Theretra orpheus subsp. pelius
A pale and narrow-winged moth. Hindwing and underside of both wings paler than Theretra orpheus orpheus. Tegula with median stripe greenish-olive.Anterior segments of abdomen laterally only slightly darker brown than the more distal segments. Forewing upperside with lines in basal third of wing thinner than in Theretra orpheus orpheus; medial area, most obviously between the upper angle of the discal cell and the postmedial lines, washed greenish-olive rather than the "Prout's brown" or russet of Theretra orpheus orpheus; first postmedial line thin, not heavier than second postmedial line.
Male genitalia: Uncus short and thin. Gnathos short and apically rounded. Valve with a single short stridulatory scale with sides converging distally. Phallus short, slightly curved but not constricted, and of essentially the same diameter along its entire length.
