Diagnostic description:
Similar to Theretra clotho clotho but distinguishable by the forewing shape and upperside pattern. Antenna with pinkish dorsal scaling. Tegulae darker than thorax. Abdomen with a pair of basal olive-brown lateral patches that are continued posteriorly as indistinct bands, gradually fading on segments 4 and 5. Forewing apex falcate. Forewing upperside with pinkish-ochre costa, posterior to which is a narrow diffuse olive green band that fades towards the discal cell; ground colour of the remainder of the wing pale buff; transverse bands and lines absent except for a broad and conspicuous olive-green fourth postmedial line that contrasts strongly with the ground colour. Hindwing upperside similar to Theretra boisduvali.
