Diagnostic description:
Similar to Theretra insularis insularis in forewing upperside but ground colour paler grey and postmedial lines less heavy, and medial dorsal line of abdomen absent. Abdomen upperside as in Theretra rhesus and Theretra insularis insularis but median dorsal line absent; pair of basal olive-brown lateral patches continued posteriorly as indistinct bands at least as far as segment 4.
