[HOLOTYPE ♀] Nicaragua: «Chontales» (ex coll. T. Belt) [NHMUK]. A holotype was inferred from Druce, 1881, Biologia cent.-am. (Zool.) Lepid.-Heterocera 1: 11, who stated that “a second specimen of this fine insect is in the Hope collection at Oxford, to which it was presented by the late Mr. Belt”. This specimen in OUMU, a male, is not type material but a subsequently collected specimen.
