Xylophanes chiron subsp. lucianus
Morphology:
Most similar to Xylophanes chiron chiron but forewing upperside pattern elements highly reduced or absent. Forewing upperside as Xylophanes chiron chiron but brown scaling along fourth reduced to a thin brown line, with only a small triangular expansion near the tornus, or brown scaling entirely absent, the fourth postmedian line being represented by little more than a series of vein spots; all lines between the basal patch and the postmedian lines absent, giving the forewing a very uniform appearance in this area.
