Xylophanes jordani Clark, 1916

Similar to Xylophanes thyelia thyelia but immediately distinguishable by the conspicuous dark brown basal area of the forewing upperside and the shape of the postmedial lines. Forewing upperside with a conspicuous dark brown basal area, bounded distally by a sharp transverse edge; postmedian lines arising on inner edge much more distally than in Xylophanes thyelia thyelia or Xylophanes pyrrhus; first and second postmedial lines narrow, parallel and close, convex basally between M₁ and CuA₂ (basally concave in Xylophanes thyelia thyelia or Xylophanes pyrrhus); fourth and fifth postmedial lines interrupted only between M₃ and CuA₂, well developed below CuA₂, running parallel to the second postmedial line to the inner margin.
