Xylophanes juanita
Dorsal scales of antennae blackish brown, more or less pinkish latero-basally. Abdomen with two rows of dorsal dots representing the dorso-lateral lines of other species of Xylophanes. Lateral border of tegulae not well marked (as in Xylophanes germen), anteriorly pinkish, continued to base of antennae. Outer spur of midtibia a little shorter than inner. First row of spines first and second foretarsal segments irregularly doubled. Forewing upperside with traces of one or two antemedial lines; four transverse postmedial lines present; first and second distinctly undulate; third and fourth faint, but fourth accentuated by dots on the veins, and followed by a patch on M2; apical oblique line indistinct. Hindwing upperside darker brown than forewing, becoming paler posteriorly; fringe white, minutely interrupted at veins.
Male genitalia: Generally similar to other species of Xylophanes. Uncus quite broad basally, narrowing to the middle, apex rounded and weakly sinuate. Gnathos rounded distally, very faintly angulate in middle of apical margin. Harpe slender, somewhat spatulate. Phallus with a curved right process and a dentate left lobe.
