Xylophanes macasensis
Most similar to Xylophanes ockendeni but larger and with many pattern differences. Small black spots on dorsum of abdomen somewhat larger than in Xylophanes ockendeni. Underside of abdomen brown or brownish-white. Forewing upperside most similar to Xylophanes ockendeni but ground colour bright green in fresh specimens, on which the darker markings stand out conspicuously; postmedial line dark green, more conspicuous, straighter and sharply defined; area around discal spot darker than in Xylophanes ockendeni, rendering the spot less conspicuous; submarginal line of vein spots connected by a series of darker green lunate markings, forming a wavy line. Male FWL: 40-43 mm; wingspan: 7.40-8.89 cm, average = 8.04 cm (n = 39). Female wingspan = 7.97 cm (n = 1).
Male genitalia: Similar to Xylophanes ockendeni but: Saccus narrower apically, somewhat V-shaped. Posterior margin of juxta convex. Harpe directed away from valve and toward midline; tapering for about two-thirds of its length, then expanded to a slightly spatulate and minutely dentate apex. At a distance from the base approximately equal to the length of the phallus, the vesica angles sharply to the left at an angle of about 135°, so that the ductus ejaculatorius is directed anterolaterally.
