Xylophanes mirabilis
Diagnostic description:
Cannot be confused with any other species of Xylophanes. Superficially similar in shape and pattern to Xylophanes ploetzi but much larger, ground colour deep green (fading slightly yellowish) with pale purple-grey irroration, and a solid black discal spot. Pale medial band highlighted along basal edge with small black spots on the veins (clearly visible only in faded specimens). FWL: 54mm.
