Xylophanes robinsonii
Extremely similar to the African Theretra monteironis; within Xylophanes, most similar to Xylophanes fosteri but much smaller and postmedian lines on forewing upperside better developed. Tegula with golden-yellow midline (brighter than in either Xylophanes fosteri or Xylophanes turbata). Outer spurs of midtibia equal to inner, both rather short. Inner basal spur of hindtibia reaching base of distal spurs. Forewing upperside similar to Xylophanes fosteri but: discal spot without darker dashes or a darker cloud immediately distal to it; first postmedial line reaching beyond M1; second postmedial line distally double, reaching beyond Rs4; fourth an fifth postmedial lines reaching from apex to CuA2. FWL: 22 mm.
Male genitalia: Uncus similar to that of Xylophanes isaon, but more compressed apically. Gnathos similar to that of Xylophanes isaon, but more sharply pointed. Harpe straight, cylindrical, the extreme tip narrowed to a point, compressed, upcurved. Apical process of phallus without a right lobe or teeth, left side with a row of teeth.
