Xylophanes suana
Diagnostic description:
Male: similar to Xylophanes tersa tersa but upperside of body and forewing more uniform ash-grey, abdomen lacking golden-yellow lateral stripes, and forewing less elongate. Abdominal tergites with weaker spines than Xylophanes tersa tersa. Forewing pattern generally very uniform; only the discal spot, basal section of first postmedian line and fourth postmedial line standing out from greyish-brown ground colour in most specimens (although a few have a more contrasting pattern in which other lines can be seen). Female: similar to Xylophanes tersa tersa but pale yellow spots of median band on hindwing upperside fewer and smaller, sometimes flushed with pink.
