Taxonomic Notes:

Transferred to Adhemarius by d'Abrera, 1987, Sphingidae Mundi: 52 (who queried whether globifer was synonymous with Adhemarius donysa). Synonymized with Adhemarius donysa by Bridges, 1993, Cat. Fam. Gen. Spec. Sphingidae of the World: VIII.1. Reinstated as a species by Carcasson & Heppner, 1996, Atlas Neotrop. Lepid. 4B: 53.
