Adhemarius ypsilon
Similar to Adhemarius gannascus, but the underside of body is redder and the sides of the sterna are greener. Both wings are broader. The forewing is marked differently, notably in the incomplete subbasal band, which fails to meet the costal margin and the presence of a much larger subapical spot. In the hindwing the median band is broader and the discal band merges with the postdiscal band forming a Y-shape. There is a pale and a dark form. Subbasal band broad, extending obliquely almost to very base of wing. Subapical patch large. Medial band broader than in Adhemarius gannascus. Discal and postdiscal bands merge quickly from leading edge of wing.
Male genitalia: Gnathos less sinuate than that of Adhemarius gannascus. Valva with patch of modified scales brown, but dorsal-most portion yellow.
