Ambulyx dohertyi
Diagnostic description:
Habitus: Similar to Ambulyx moorei and Ambulyx semifervens but greenish olive stripe across tegula sharply defined and broader than in Ambulyx moorei, continued onto metanotum as a broad stripe.
Male genitalia: Sternum A8 not produced into a lobe, emarginated so differing from other Ambulyx. Gnathos less deeply divided than in Ambulyx moorei and Ambulyx semifervens. Valve with patch of stridulatory scales smaller than in Ambulyx moorei and individual scales larger; harpe similar to that of Ambulyx semifervens, but shorter. Phallus produced into an irregular spoon-shaped process, which is denticulate at edge.
Female genitalia: Tergum A8 less minute than in Ambulyx moorei. Sterigma with margins of ostium bursae simple.
