Ambulyx staudingeri
Diagnostic description:
May be confused with Ambulyx pryeri, with which it flies sympatrically in the Sulu Archipelago. Distinguished by having the posterior third of the forewing upperside subterminal line closer to the termen, and most specimens have a dark tornal shade. The tornal shade occurs also in Ambulyx tattina, but that species lacks the dark subbasal spots on the forewing.
