Protambulyx fasciatus
Diagnostic description:
Very similar to Protambulyx eurycles but differs as follows. Male: smaller; forewing upperside darker, antemedial and postmedial bands more diffuse; oblique dark line on vein CuA1 broader and more diffuse (thin and well-defined in Protambulyx eurycles). Female: slightly larger than the male, forewing upperside greyish-brown (much larger than the male and forewing upperside reddish-brown in Protambulyx eurycles).
Male genitalia: Identical to Protambulyx eurycles but smaller.
Distribution:
Records from Reserva Biológica de Gurjaú, Pernambuco, Brazil and Estancia Laguna Blanca, Paraguay remain to be confirmed.
