Taxonomic Notes:
Type species: Hemaris staudingeri Leech (1890), by original designation. Established as a subgenus of Hemaris. A junior homonym of Jilinga Ghauri, 1974, Bull. Ent. Res. 63: 551 (Hemiptera). The new replacement name is Neojilinga Zhang, 2013.
The use of subgenera in Sphingidae is considered unnecessary and they are rejected here.
