Antinephele marcida
Most similar to Antinephele anomala but slightly larger. Rothschild & Jordan (1903: 597) stated that the underside of the abdomen lacked spots but these are present in some specimens. Forewing upperside generally similar to Antinephele anomala but ground colour pale brownish-green (fading to orange-brown) rather than dark brown; antemedial band broader and merging with the anterior part of the oblique subapical band, the pattern elements of which are blurred and diffuse (crescent-shaped marks between Rs3 and Rs4 and between Rs4 and M1 almost indistinguishable); only the lunulate white spot between M2 and M3 well-developed, that between M1 and M2 diffuse and merging into the costal band; apical line connecting outer edge of oblique band to forewing apex reduced to a short white dash between Rs4 and M1, white lunule between Rs3 and Rs4 expanded basad to form a greyish-white patch.
Male genitalia: uncus slender, subapically dilated, very much longer than gnathos; saccus short and broad; valve upcurved; with two rows of long, narrow stridulatory scales; harpe long, slender, straight; phallus without apical armature; vesica with a long, narrow, sharply pointed, blade-like cornutus and a patch of teeth along the anterior half of one side.
Female genitalia: similar to Antinephele anomala but anterior part of postvaginal plate absent; antrum shorter and wider; signum with less pronounced lobes and apex more rounded; thickened area marginally more defined, median area narrower, forming a groove.
