When Zolotuhin & Ryabov (2012) divided Meganoton sensu auctorum into Cerberonoton (for Diludia rubescens Butler, [1876] and its subspecies), Meganoton (for Macrosila nyctiphanes Walker, 1856 and Meganoton yunnanfuana Clark , 1925) and Notonagemia (for Sphinx analis Felder, C. & Felder, R., 1874, and its subspecies), they neglected to place Meganoton hyloicoides in any of these genera. At present, this species is provisionally placed in Notonagemia pending further study.
