Taxonomic Notes:
STAT. REV. The analysis of the higher classification of Sphingidae using five nuclear genes by Kawahara et al. (2009: Figure 3) demonstrated that the group of genera comprising Acosmerycoides, Ampelophaga, Clarina, Darapsa, Elibia and Enpinanga formed a well-supported monophyletic group, for which, under the Principle of the First Reviser, the subtribe Clarinina is here reinstated.
