Batocnema africanus
Diagnostic description:
Similar to Batocnema coquerelii but general pattern paler and less contrasting. Forewing upperside with two, rather than six, conspicuous costal patches and stripes, the most apical of which is broad, quadrate and reaching the apex (small, triangular and subapical in Batocnema coquerelii); forewing apex transversely truncate (obliquely truncate in Batocnema coquerelii).
