Phylloxiphia colasi
Very similar in habitus to Phylloxiphia vicina but forewing in general paler with a more uniform pattern; in particular, the darker zone near the tornus in Phylloxiphia vicina is much reduced or lacking in Phylloxiphia colasi. However, this is not an entirely consistent difference as the palest Phylloxiphia vicina closely approach the more heavily marked Phylloxiphia colasi in pattern and in such cases confirmation by genital dissection is required.
Male genitalia: overall, slightly smaller than in Phylloxiphia vicina, especially the uncus relative to the valves; apices of uncus arms in lateral view downcurved at right angles (pointing obliquely ventrally in Phylloxiphia vicina); gnathos directed ventro-posteriorly (parallel to the uncus in Phylloxiphia vicina).
