Similar to Batocnema africanus but general pattern comprising a much better developed series of bands and patches. Forewing upperside with six, rather than two, conspicuous costal patches and stripes, the most apical of which is small, triangular and subapical (broad, quadrate and reaching the apex in Batocnema africanus); forewing apex obliquely truncate (transversely truncate in Batocnema africanus.
