Macroglossum celebicum
Diagnostic description:
Macroglossum celebicum is very similar to Macroglossum mediovitta but differs in the following characters: forewing more elongate; forewing upperside basal area darker, proximal edge of antemedial band indistinct, pale medial band pinkish, sharply defined and more oblique, area distal to postmedial band bluish-grey and contrasting markedly with the dark brown colour either side of the pale medial band; hindwing underside with basal and postdiscal areas paler and more yellow.
Male genitalia: Harpe swollen basally and medially clearly narrow compared to the uniform width in Macroglossum mediovitta.
