Callambulyx poecilus
Diagnostic description:
Forewing as strongly falcate as in Callambulyx junonia but less falcate than in Callambulyx tatarinovii. Forewing underside red in basal half, as in some specimens of Callambulyx tatarinovii.
Male genitalia: Uncus similar to that of Callambulyx rubricosa but narrower and with apex more suddenly narrowed; dorsoventrally deep and flattened, unlike in Callambulyx tatarinovii where it is narrow and evenly tapered. Gnathos reduced, without medial lobe. Valve widened distally into a subquadrate flap, bearing a high triangular crest on the inner surface dorsally, which is continuous with the subdorsal fold of the more proximal part of the valve; harpe terminating in long apical hook and with a short subapical tooth.
