Rhagastis castanea
Diagnostic description:
Ground colour of both upperside and underside very variable, the upperside sometimes more, sometimes less reddish, the underside varying from orange to pale tawny. Labial palp segment 1 with apical cavity partly covered by single long scales from the first and second segments, as in Theretra pallicosta. Forebasitarsus with outer row of spines single, with some additional spines basally. Forewing upperside ground colour varying from chestnut-orange to dark brown; discal spot black; postmedial lines very indistinct, the most distal indicated by more or less vestigial vein-dots; marginal area greyish, widest at M2. Hindwing upperside uniformly dark tawny-olive or blackish; fringe white between CuA2 and 1A.
