Macroglossum limatoides
Diagnostic description:
Similar to Macroglossum limata but: wings narrower; forewing upperside ground colour darker, apex with a dark triangular patch with its base along the outer margin (only a rectangular dash between Rs4 and M1 in Macroglossum limata); underside of thorax and legs dark grey (ochre to brown-grey in Macroglossum limata); underside of abdomen uniformly dark brown, lacking the lateral reddish patches of Macroglossum limata; forewing underside submarginal band extending along M2 to meet the dark basal patch.
Male genitalia: Similar to Macroglossum limata but: harpe longer and strighter; transverse apical process of phallus with long teeth on both edges (serrate in Macroglossum limata); cornuti shorter and broader.
