Taxonomic Notes:
Proposed as a subspecies of Rhagastis aurifera. Synonymized with Rhagastis aurifera jordani by Clark, 1929, Proc. New Engl. zool. Club 11: 8. Erroneously treated as a subspecies of Rhagastis aurifera by Bridges, 1993, Cat. Fam. Gen. Spec. Sphingidae of the World: VIII.21. Synonymized with Rhagastis castor jordani by Kitching & Spitzer, 1995, Tinea 14: 192. Raised to species status by Jiang et al., 2023, Insects 15: 359 (17).
