Cechenena helops (Walker, 1856)

HOLOTYPE [♀] “Port Natal (ex coll. Dr Krauss)” «[Malaysia:] Penang [Pinang] (pres. by Sir W. Norris)» [NHMUK]. A Boisduval manuscript name made available by Walker. The holotype bears a label with the accession number "40 5 26 66", for which the NHMUK accessions register gives the above data for a specimen of a sphinx moth. The data given by Walker in the original description – “Port Natal. From Dr Krauss' collection” - are for accession 40 6 26 (66), so it appears that Walker misread the register. Boisduval, 1875, in: Boisduval & Guenée, Hist. nat. Insectes (Spec. gén. Lépid. Hétérocères) 1: 259, recognized Walker's mistake but gave "Moulmein" as the corrected type locality, but that is also erroneous.
